The Royal Palace of Caserta and its park were designed by Luigi Vanvitelli in 1752 and completed by his son Carlo Vanvitelli and other architects in the following century.
The Palace is one of the largest royal residences in the world, able to rival Versailles, was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1997.
